There are 2 steps you need to complete to sign up for SIW.

  1. Provide some basic information about yourself

  2. Register for the class with the Miami registrar using the ROR process

STEP 1 - Fill out this form

Terms and Conditions

This is a class. If you register you are required to attend. There are drop dates associated with this class. Note them below. They CANNOT be changed

Last day to register: 02/29/2024

Last day to register through an Admin: 03/01/2024

Last day to withdraw without a grade: 03/01/2024

Last day to withdraw with a “W”: 03/03/2024

Some things to consider:

  • you will work for at LEAST 29 hours during the course of the weekend in person in The Farmer School of Business

  • You should NOT plan to attend any other events during the weekend.

  • If you work - you should request off of work during the weekend. All of your time should be devoted to the class and your team.

  • Teams will be formed prior to the event and you will be paired with students from different areas on campus.

  • You will pitch your business model on Sunday to a panel of judges. There is a cash prize that the top teams will win.

  • You have to pay the FSB surcharge for this Entrepreneurship course. If you would like to be considered for a scholarship - email: Meghan Smith smith480@miamioh.edu

  • You will be provided lots of food and caffeinated beverages.

  • You will create new friendships and have an incredibly memorable and meaningful learning experience.

STEP 2 - Complete your registration via the ROR process

You will have to register for SIW via Banner Web

(NOTE: Grad students do NOT need to do this)

Before February 29th, 2024, register for Social Innovation Weekend 2024 by following these instructions

Step one: Log into Miami University Course List using your UniqueID and passcode

Step two: Enter the following filters

- Term: Spring Semester 2023-2024

- Campus: Oxford

- Subject:

  • ESP 102 - this is required for all FSB students

  • GHS 301 (GHS 101 prerequisite - if not taken register with ESP 102)

Hit the “Find” button in the bottom right corner

Step four: Click “Submit Registration Override Request”

Step five: Complete the following fields and SUBMIT!

After Registration

You will be added to either the ESP 102 or GHS 301 Canvas course (they provide the same information) here you will find a pre-weekend survey - submit that google form and we will use the information to add you to a team!
