WHAT IS SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEKEND?

SocialĀ InnovationĀ WeekendĀ (SIW) is an intense three-day experience in whichĀ students, professionals and community membersĀ use entrepreneurial skills to tackle a pressing socialĀ challenge. This year’s topic of focus is Homelessness and Affordable Housing.

MENTORS/VOLUNTEERS WE NEED YOU!

Social Innovation Weekend is only made possible with the help of business professionals, homelessness and affordable housing professionals, and industry experts who serve as mentors/volunteers and judges to help our teams develop entrepreneurial solutions to pressing social challenges.

Social Innovation Weekend is a hackathon style program for Miami University students. Mentors/Volunteers consult with small startup teams to provide their insights and feedback as the teams develop new programs / services / products that address homelessness and affordable housing.  Student teams will go all-in for 48 hours straight and pitch their ideas to a judging panel of subject matter experts and startup ecosystem partners at the end of the weekend.
