Social Innovation Weekend would not be possible without the help of the dozens of business professionals, homelessness and affordable housing professionals, and industry experts who help out during the weekend. Mentors/Volunteers serve as informal coaches, subject matter experts, soundboards, and judges for the weekend to help student teams develop and validate entrepreneurial solutions to pressing social issues. Check out the FAQ below for more information or click the signup button to register to join us during the first weekend of March 2021!
Mentors/Volunteers can sign up for time blocks throughout the day/evening of Saturday, March 6th. You can also choose to sign up to judge the final pitches on Sunday morning, March 7th.
You will be providing your industry expertise in social entrepreneurship, business, homelessness and affordable housing, or other related fields to student teams as they develop a problem statement centered around a challenge related to homelessness and affordable housing. As they create and validate their innovative solution, you will be helping them to determine if their solution is viable. Mentors/Volunteers serve as expert resources, soundboards, and coaches for some of our more than 25 student teams.
We care deeply about the health and safety of all of our attendees of SIW 2021. To ensure this, we will be hosting the event 100% virtually.
We encourage you all to stay safe and healthy by washing your hands, wearing masks when you are required to do so, social distancing, and avoiding large gatherings.
Of course! Mentors will be able to network with other professionals and experts in both informal settings and in specified time blocks we will set aside for you to get to know each other. In addition to this, mentors are able to network with participants as they are working toward their final pitches throughout the weekend.
