WHAT IS SOCIAL INNOVATION WEEKEND?
Social Innovation Weekend (SIW) is an intense three-day experience in which students, professionals and community members use entrepreneurial skills to tackle a pressing social challenge. This year’s topic of focus is Mental Health and Resilience.
MENTORS/VOLUNTEERS WE NEED YOU!
Social Innovation Weekend is only made possible with the help of Mental Health and Resilience professionals, Business Professionals, and Industry Experts who serve as mentors/volunteers, and judges to help our teams develop entrepreneurial solutions to a pressing social challenge.
Social Innovation Weekend is a hackathon style program for Miami University students. Mentors/Volunteers consult with small student startup teams to provide their insights and feedback as the teams develop new programs / services / products that address homelessness and affordable housing. Student teams will go all-in for 48 hours straight and pitch their ideas to a judging panel of subject matter experts and startup ecosystem partners at the end of the weekend.
